The new sorting and treatment centre was designed to recycle household waste from over 1 million inhabitants in Paris's western suburbs. More specifically, this entails recycling of 55,000 tonnes of collected sorted and bulky waste and energy recovery from 460,000 tonnes of household waste.

Highlight: The plant has no visible smokestack and complies with the new EU directives regarding the criteria of emissions of air pollutants. The building is buried 31 metres below ground level, with only 21 metres rising above ground.
